Honey has two key benefits for hair
- It is a humectant, this means it attracts and retains moisture (water) leaving your hair feeling moisturised.
- It boosts hair's shininess.
- Honey is packed with vitamins and minerals that are important for hair growth, e.g. iron, zinc, vitamins B1, B2 and B3
It can lighten the colour of your hair. I don't think there is scientific evidence for this but a fan told me that after prolonged use of honey, her hair became lighter in colour. I personally don't want to risk it so I only use conservative amounts of honey.
Adding honey to conditioner will help to make your hair feel softer, healthier and easier to manage.
