Now that I am natural, 8-10 glasses of water per day is essential to the strength and health of my hair. Soft water is preferred, but if I am somewhere else where the water is a little on the hard side, i try to make sure I condition my hair very well.

I've been drinking more water everyday from 4 glasses to 10 glasses and I spray water on my hair before I rub in my argan and vitamin e oils. Water is important for me. My recent medical exam results, my kidney and liver are healthy. I sometimes put fresh lemon in my water. Also, water keeps your veins and arteries hydrated.

I recently went natural 4 months ago and the way I incorporate water into my hair care is by drinking 2 liters a day. I also two strand twist my hair once a week and I usually do it after co washing while my hair is still wet. When I first started twisting my damp hair a few days later my hair would feel super dry and I thought it was because of the water but I started using a Shea butter moisturizer while twisting my wet locks hair and it didn't feel as dry after a few days. Then I read an article about the difference between hair that is dry and hair that just feels dry and realized that my hair just felt dry and it wasn't really dry. In my four months of going natural I have seen 2 inches of growth.

Now that I have gone natural....water is my friend. My hair loves water and is so much easier to manage with the use of it. I use it to make up various mixes in a spray bottle to hydrate my hair. I also have to make sure to drink enough water so that my hair stays moist and does not become dry and brittle. I LOVE water!! 12/1/2013 09:19:41 am
Water is no longer the enemy now that I am natural! It is my go to product every time. I understand now why water is the main and first ingredient in hair conditioners. I make sure I drink 80 ounces of water everyday and I spritz it daily to moisturize my hair.

Now that I'm natural, I run towards water instead of running away. I do my best to drink water rather than anything else.

I have been natural since 1994 and vegetarian since 1998 and I honestly am just recently understanding the connection between water and my health, whether it is hair, cardiovascular, or otherwise. I had locs for 13 years so when I big chopped about 2 years ago I had to learn how to take care of myself. Locs were fairly self-sustaining so I washed, conditioned, and that was it. I thought if I washed my newly shorn hair too often it wouldn't behave the way I wanted. After my second chop about 6 months ago (I'm a lil erratic with my hair styles after 13 years of locs) I started wetting my hair daily and wouldn't you know it, it is MORE manageable when I wet and use a leave in daily. Who knew this 4c hair would actually do what I wanted!!

I've been natural since 2005. When my hair was shorter I did wet in go daily. Now its much longer I wash my hair weekly. If wearing double strand twist I spray my hair nightly with water and apply a small mixture shea butter and coconut oil. I drink at least 10 glasses of water daily. I love the fact I no longer run away from rainy days.

Before the BC, you couldn't pay me to get my hair wet! Now, I'm wetting my hair with filtered water every time I use the restroom! And, I love not having to wear shower caps during my shower!!! Every chance I get to wet my hair, I take advantage of it as water is my life

Since being natural, I realized that water was my friend and not the enemy that it used to be when I was relaxed. I drink half of my body weight in water each day--120oz. I use water in my DIY hair recipes, the LOC method and run water through my hair whenever it feels parched. My hair drinks this stuff up and it's softer and more manageable! Who would have known that water could be so beneficial?

I've been natural for 10 years and water bottles are my best friends. I have a water spray bottle on my bathroom sink that I use almost daily and I have water bottles for drinking in my refrigerator. I have learned that with everything you start from inside out, that includes your hair. You have to drink plenty of water to keep your hair hydrated. Water should be a part of your daily routine. It is definately a part of mine!!!

I view water as good for my hair but not so much as before. When my hair would dry it would be dry and hard to manage. I have found that water helps with managing it and helps with the dryness. I incorporate water into my my natural hair life by drinking as much as I can stand ( not always successful at it) and anytime my hair feels super dry I use a combination of water, aloe vera juice and rosemary for my hair is twist, plait or braid my hair. I am not afraid of getting my hair wet anymore lol water is my friend,

Hi Noma,

I went short and natural in Nov 2012. I had attempted to go natural previously on two occasions but because my hair is usually thick and coarse when it got to a certain length I could not cope and ended up perming again. This time I have access to a lot of information online about natural haircare which I didn't know. I have a spritzer bottle which I fill with water and use twice daily morning and night before using Shea Butter and Organics by Africa's Best Carrot and Tea-tree therapy (oil). I am TRYING to drink more water...have a problem with the taste but working on it.

Now that I am natural I can honestly say that I am not afraid to get my hair wet. When I had a perm the fear of getting my hair wet in between perms was overwhelming. I believe that natural hair needs moisture and the best way is with water.Water helps on both the inside and out. Now that I have incoporated water into my diet as well as my hair, my skin glows and my hair always feels great. Water is essential in our lives and as a natural diva..it is utmost important and that's no LYE!!!!!!!

Since going natural I love giving my hair the extra water it needs and I also make sure I get my 8 or more glasses of water in throughout the day. I actually noticed my hair is growing much more by feeding it the main ingredient of water...so water is my best friend :)

Now that I am natural i understand more that water is even more essential. Seeing my natural hair after 34 years and seeing how good it is to my body and my natural hair definitely fights against brittleness. I incorporate it by drinking a minimum of 64 oz a day and it is a must to keep my tresses sprayed with water when styling. My hair is moisturized, soft and shiny. My hair is very (POROUS) and soaks up water...my hair loves it and i would love to try these products. I am consciously applying water to my everyday living. I'm drinking a lot more and every other day I would wet my hands and apply the water onto my hair. I would never have done this 4 months ago. But with leave in conditioner, moisturizer and oil in my hair. I found it to be very effective and helps with the softness and the shine on my hair. Hydration is something I'm no longer afraid to do. Water is like an old friend I've missed most of my life! Now that I'm natural, my hair 'drinks' water everyday. I stand in the rain without running for shelter like its some sort of plague! I stand in the shower and let my hair enjoy getting soaked. In return, my hair has bounce, shine, and growth like never before. Water is a crucial part of my hair's health and my own. Every woman should get back in touch with this old friend!

Now that I am a Natural I absolutely love water in my hair. In the summertime it is not a big deal at all for me to go out with my hair soaking wet! In fact I love doing just that. While everyone is complaining how hot it is I'm cool.I drink more water now than when I was wearing relaxed styles and I am no longer terrified when it's rains!!!!! My only regret is that i didn't do this sooner because I have fallen in love with my natural hair texture and I couldn't be happier to be rid of relaxers anyway. They never got my hair completely straight and I always had chemical burns on my scalp from it. I find it exciting when I try out products to know what works and doesn't work for my hair and to know that it is not the product but the fact that my hair just may not accept certain products. I actually wish that I had never been on the creamy crack ever in my life...

I love water...I drink it all the time as well as use it for my hair! I spray my hair 2 times daily before I oil and twist it up at night...my hair seems to love water because I have had some of my best twist outs after I have sprayed it with water! I would tell anyone with any question about natural hair that water is the most important!

Now that I am natural, I drink about 6 to 8 bottles of water. At first i was scared to spray water on my hair only because of shrinkage. As i have researched and experimented, I keep a spray bottle handy and spritz throughout the day.

I love water on my natural hair. I wet my hair twice a day, once in the morning and again at night and seal the water in each time. I laugh when I see women running for cover to get out of the rain as I walk calmly to my destination. I just love the way that the water runs off of my hair in the shower. I try to drink at least 48 ounces of water daily because I need my inside and my outside to be hydrated.

I have come to appreciate water on my hair. I have had locs for 5 years now and I always knew water was good for the loc-ing process but I did not like the smell that it left behind and I could not understand why it smelled bad even though I'd just washed it. I've come to learn recently that I need to condition it soon after and I haven't had that smelly issue since! I am so grateful for this knowledge!

Now that I am natural I view water as a very important factor in overall health in the body. It is my main source of hydration whether I'm drinking water or moisturizing my hair. Whenever my hair is feeling dry I have a spray bottle with water and some oils to spritz onto my hair.

Water only on wash day for me, with the exception of maybe a very light mist on occasion. I found that wetting my hair daily does not work for me. It does better with just a water-based moisturizer.

I have technically been natural for nearly two years but been happily wearing my natural hair out one month now and loving it!! Before I would not want water to touch my hair unless I was washing it - but now I spray my hair with a water oil mix twice a day and my hair loves it!! Never again will I shy away from what my hair and bodies needs most!!

Water has not always been my friend..on my hair that is...but now that I'm au naturale I spritz water on my dry hair to soften before I do my two strand twist and other protective styles. As far as drinking water...that's practically all I drink thru out the day. Love me some sky juice. :) 14/1/2013 03:36:46 am
As a natural, water is my best friend! My hair craves it like I need air to breath. I have found that drinking more water and using water as my base and even in my spritz makes my hair have more life. My hair loves it!

I believe water is crucial for our natural hair, without the use of it, it wont grow. I have also started drinking 60 oz+ a day because my hair is more drier than I would like. Now that it is wintertime, I don't wash my hair as often as I do in the summer. In the summer, I do a lot of wash n go's, far as winter, I wash once a week and sometimes twice and I spray my hair with water maybe 2 or 3 times a week. 14/1/2013 03:49:56 am
Water is a huge part of my Natural Hair Journey. I drink a half a gallon of water a day. I also sprints my hair everyday no matter what style I have in. It helps to flush out the system and adding a little aloe to both my drinking water and the water I spritz on my hair I'm rejuvenated inside and out. Water is truly a glorious thing.

Now that I am natural I have learned that water is essential to keep my hair moisturized. I spray my hair at least twice a day. I also drink a lot of water more than 8 glasses a day it is not only good for our hair but also our skin. I also mist my hair with water at night and I wear a shower cap so in the morning my hair is moist and easier for me to style as well as comb because I have very tight coils and my hair craves water because it can become very dry. Water is very essential to keeping natural hair healthy and strong.

I can't help but think of the ol days when water was the last thing I wanted near my hair So many years of dry, brittle hair just begging for water based moisture. Today, I actually wash my hair with a leave in conditioner, use a water-based moisturizer, Shea butter, and a cream. Took about 2 months to come up with this combo, but it works. I love it love it love. I drink it, spray it, clean with it, water it totally great. I have to admit there have been times I am not so great at drinking it all the time and I do notice a huge differene in my hair. It starts to feel very dry. I have been a natural for just over 18 years and I have only learnt how to look after my hair in the last year but I still have a lot to learn!

I can care less now about my hair getting wet. Prior to becoming natural, I would cringe at thought of my hair getting wet or even at the steam coming from the shower. Now I embrace it with open arms!!! I no longer run from the rain. I incorporate water by keeping spray bottles of water in the car, around the house and even a miniature in my purse. I also make sure I drink plenty of it as well. We just change the water system to a water softener, ooh my.... how it does wonders for my hair. I condition my hair with avocado and grapeseed oil and when I rinse my hair all my natural curls just come to life. Adding a water softener makes a very big difference in your everyday water usage.

I find it really funny that growing up I was taught to run from rain and water period because it would mess up my relaxer. Now I can't get enough of it! Water is the #1 moisturizer for my hair and now I find myself drinking more of it as well.

Now that I am natural I am no longer scared of water and know that it is good for my hair. I drink as much water as I can and I have been known to walk in the rain just because it feels good. To me my hair is at it's prettiest when it's wet.

Prior to becoming natural I would use water in my hair to help smooth my edges when wearing my hair in a ponytail or updo. Now I've notice when I do my hair my spray bottle has really become a part of my hair routine. And I've cut out the sodas. Water has truly become my best friend.

I view water on my by looking at it as my friend. I spritz it on my hair whenever my hair looks thirsty by adding some in my water bottle. I also am a water fanatic, I can't go nowhere without my spring water; because of the hard water where I live at I only drink bottle water only and I also uses it on my hair. 14/1/2013 10:00:32 pm

Now that I'm natural and trying to be healthier overall (not sure if that is coincidental or not), I am learning to embrace water. Not only do I make sure to seal in all that fabulous liquid after washing my hair, I am drinking more water now. I have a liter glass bottle that I fill up daily & drink (I know I should probably drink more, but I have to start somewhere). To get myself to enjoy it more, I infuse my water with lemons, strawberries or cucumbers to add a litlle something extra. It makes me feel like I'm at the spa. I;m also eating more water rich fruits and veggies like melon & celery.

Now that I am natural, I am able to walk in the rain and not worry about the effects on my hair. I especially love when it is a misty rain. I used to cringe when I had a relaxer. I signed up for a swim class because my hair is no longer an issue. I still struggle with drinking more water but I do. I add water to my hair routine to condition and moisture. I love being natural. Natural does rock!
"Now that you are a natural i mix water and pure glycerin in a spray bottle with some a few essential oils and mist it in the morning, it helps to detangle it and gives it life. Also, i drink plenty of water and green tea daily for antioxidants and energy. I also take biotin for healthy hair, nails and skin. I feel totally liberated and free to wear my own god given hair and the great thing about it is i have rock the mess out of that i have other people going natural aswell!! I feel like a unique individual and for the other races in world to see we like the way we were born and don't have to compremise to be who we are.. MY NATURAL KINKY HAIR ROCKS..
