Harry and I have a pregnancy photo shoot in a couple of weeks and I'm struggling to decide whether braids or an afro is best. What will look better in 30 years' time - braids or afro? Write a comment if you think something else completely.

I actually like the idea of braids bc they are not timeless. I love looking at hairstyles from years ago. Your kids and grandkids and so on will be able to see what was fashionable before their time.

I think braids would be easier to maintain do to the fact that a lot of times being pregnant we tend to be tired and don't feel like dealing with our hair that often especially if we have other children to attend to as well as working. ..an afro would be nice but you will have to get up every morning and make sure that it's in tact ..so braids for me

I think they equally look nice on you. However I think you should go with the afro hair. Some might argue that braids are low maintenance especially for expecting mother. The afro hair is very versatile and natural. Your hair is healthy and has enough length, you can achieve the same style as the braids. Remember pregnant women goes through a lot of changes. I would stick to natural so you can keep track of how your hair is responding to you been pregnant as well as after the birth of the baby.

Loving the fro!!!! I love the afro, but your braids are gorgeous. You can also keep them until the baby comes, which will be easier for you as you grow more tired. I've received your emails for over a year, but have never responded. I wish you and Harry all the joy your hearts can contain, and more!

i Prefer the braids. But they don't have to be cornrows. Afro's come and go. Seasons change but with the braids they are always in style. Thats my opinion.

Definitely afro for the photo-shoot then braids after because hair care will be the least of your worries towards the birth, so you wont have to worry about styling your hair.

Heather, i hope you'll rock an Afro for your photoshoot. Simply because in 20yrs time, we still need to remember our natural hair and how awesome it is and how it just grows towards the sun. Sure, braids are beautiful but your afro will remind anyone who thinks natural is " passe" that it's forever! All the best

Afro. Because braids take a while. And depending upon how far along you are in your pregnancy, you're not going to want to sit in a chair for too long. Too uncomfortable. Afro is less time consuming.

I vote braids! They both look lovely and of course the afro will always be classic but those braids are EVERYTHING. You will look like a pregnant queen. Supremely regal, womanly and beautiful. My vote.

I think that you should sort of intertwine them both, with a braid style in the front and a fro in the back. I think that will look great!

I love how full your afro is and I'm sure your baby will too. In some years, you'll be able to look back and see how far you've come. I vote the afro, There are plenty of ways you can dress it up and still feel comfortable. Good luck and have a blast.

I vote braids, they never fail! Heather dear, the afro is timeless and will definitely look great in your upcoming shoot. In order for it not to look too boring in the different stages of your shoot, you can style with different accessories (bows, scarfs, hairbands, flower crowns, etc) and sure you'll still look gorgeous come the next 30 years. All the very best!
