This is one of those posts that's going to be short to the point and have only one point in it:
When you braid your hair, the best thing you can do for your edges is to cornrow or flat twist them. I first went natural because my hair was looking raggedy and getting thinner and the edges were the bits that needed the most TLC. Two years later, I am less psycho about not exposing my ends and I am not so dogmatic about the dos and donts of my hair but three things have remained constant:
These are the best tips I can give. What to do if the hair around your edges gets damaged? In some cases, it will never grow back but you can ensure it does not get worse by referring to these 6 Easy solutions for hair that's breaking or thinning around the edges!

Thanks for this. What do you think about medium sized marley twists that aren't put in too tight. Do you think that will lead to heavy breakage? I decided on twists cause I wanted a style I can do myself that would be presentable. Im avoiding salons cause of my last bad experience with a natural salon. I cant self cornrows well so thats my best protective style alternative.

Then how about crochet braids, since you braid your own first and then add hair on top!, wouldn't that be less stress, cause your own hair is the base make it stronger? Can the be good on your edges?

Thank you so much, I can't wait to read it. I've been natural since January, and I'm trying to grow my hair out more. right now my go to style has been Havana twists. I love them they are versatile and do not put a lot of strain on my hair. 22/11/2014 09:58:34 pm
I am going back natural myself and I find that my hairline is receding and no matter how much I put hair grease on it, it is not growing. What should I do? Comments are closed.
