1. What's your name and where are you from?
Hello queens! My name is Beau and I'm from Brooklyn, NY but I'm currently residing in Pennsylvania. 2. What is your hair type? Honestly, I think the whole "hair type" thing is overrated and I don't really follow that. My hair is thick and curly, but really easy to manage. As far as 3a, 4c, and Double d's... I ain't got time for all that. lol
3. When did you go natural and what made you do it?
I have been fully natural for a little over two years now after transitioning for 12 months prior to that. I big chopped on July 6, 2013 and got rid of almost 5 inches of dead, permed hair. Ultimately, my sisters were the ones who inspired me to go the natural route. 4. What was the most challenging thing about going natural? The most challenging part about going natural was finding the right products for my hair. Lord have mercy! I spent months going through the 'product junky' phase. 5. What is your weekly regimen? I rarely shampoo my hair and if I do, I use As I Am's Curl Clarity Shampoo. I swear by all their products. I don't have a specific wash day. If my hair feels dirty or starts to itch at all, I'm washing it no matter what. I'd say, every three to four days and every other day in the Summer. On a regular wash day: I pre-poo by massaging some argon oil into my scalp, rinse with warm water, then co-wash with As I Am's Coconut Co-wash. I always rinse the final products out with cold water. After I'm out the shower, I apply some Kinky Curly Knot Today, a small dab of Shea Moisture's Curling Gel Soufflé, then I seal everything with some more Argan oil. Last step, I let my hair completely air dry. 6. What is your daily morning regimen? In the morning, I literally fluff and go! I'll apply a little more oil if necessary. 7. What is your daily night time regimen? I always sleep on a satin pillow case. You can find some really good ones at Sally's beauty supply. 8. Do you use heat on your hair at all? I have been heat-free for a year now and I don't plan on changing that.
9. Do you braid your hair? If so, how often do you do so in a year?
No, I rarely ever braid my hair. 10. Wide-tooth comb or Denman brush? Neither, my fingers work best. If I absolutely have to, I'd use a wide-tooth comb. 11. Is your hair normally loose or in a protective-do? 95% of the time, I'm rocking a wash & go. That's just my thing. 12. Have you ever had a hair tragedy? What was it? How did you recover from it? Do I have to really go back there? Lord be a fence, lol. The worst hair experience I've ever had was going to a new Dominican salon in the area and asking for red highlights. My biggest mistake was making sure the woman understood exactly what I wanted done. I left with my entire head bleached bright red. I was absolutely, devastated. I will never forget that day and the look on my dad's face when I got home. 13. What's your biggest tip for maintaining healthy or long hair? Drink water, eat clean, and keep your hair moisturized. There's no magic trick. Be good to your mane and it will be good to you. 14. Where can we find you online? (blog, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube etc).

1. What's your name and where are you from?
Tangela Jones Aka NaturalRootSista. I am from Jacksonville, Florida, USA. 2. What is your hair type? 3A, 3B
3. When did you go natural and what made you do it?
I have been natural since 2010. After years of lifeless damaged hair it was time for me to make a difference in my life. I began to do research on how to better care for my hair and body, researching the different types of ingredients to determine how they could potentially help or harm me. My findings were remarkable and impacted my life in an amazing way. I gained confidence in my appearance, which gave me the ability to talk confidently and boldly. Through my research and personal experience, I am able to motivate and encourage others. 4. What was the most challenging thing about going natural? Researching what the different ingredients were and how they could help or harm your hair. 5. What is your weekly regimen? I keep my hair and scalp moisturized daily with rich light oils: grapeseed, avocado, rice brain oil, etc. 6. What is your daily morning regimen? I spritz my hair each morning with a bottle of water and a blend of light oils as I am unraveling my two strand twist or bamboo knots. 7. What is your daily night time regimen? Pretty much the same as the daytime. The only thing different is I take my time at night and massage my scalp thoroughly. When finished, I twist or I have bamboo knots all over my hair wrapped with a silk scarf. 8. Do you use heat on your hair at all? No.
9. Do you braid your hair? If so, how often do you do so in a year?
I only braid my hair at night after applying my moisturizer or oils. 10. Wide-tooth comb or Denman brush? Both. 11. Is your hair normally loose or in a protective-do? Loose. 12. Have you ever had a hair tragedy? What was it? How did you recover from it? When I did a product review and the product didn’t work on my hair, my hair came out so hard and brittle. I had to do a ACV cleanse to strip all the product out of my hair, then I applied oils onto my scalp. 13. What's your biggest tip for maintaining healthy or long hair? Don’t be a product junky, find what works for your texture of hair and stick with it. Keep your hair maintained with good oils or moisturizers, also take good care of your scalp, create a morning and nightly routine, and most importantly eat healthy and drink lots of water. 14.
