1. What's your name and where are you from?
Diana Ramsey, from Riverside California; by way of Newport News, Virginia 2. What is your hair type? My type. Sorry, not one to be put in a box because I don’t fold. My hair Jazzy is her own type and I like her that way..:)
3. When did you go natural and what made you do it?
I returned back to my natural hair November 27, 2010. I wanted to prove to myself that I could succeed at treating my hair better. I’d tried to return back to my natural hair in 2006, and failed horribly. Upon moving to Texas in 2010, I decided to try my hand again and was successful due to my extensive research. Once I set my mind on treating my hair better, my want to continue fell into place. 4. What was the most challenging thing about going natural? I don’t battle with challenging, once I established my own platform, SistersWithBeauty where I educate on Home Hair Care, the challenge stopped being about my hair and more about my business. Talk about maintaining healthy hair and growing a business, now that’s the real challenge. 5. What is your weekly regimen? My weekly regimen is very simple. I style my hair for my workweek on Sunday, with a wash and style. I plan my workweek hair Monday-Friday. The style I create on Sunday, transforms into different things throughout the week. This type of styling I call 7 day workweek styling. I work smarter and not harder when it comes to styling my hair. If I begin with a protective style on Sunday, by Thursday, I’ve taken out the ends of my hair and come Friday, I’m in a full on Fro Flex in the office. I leave the conditioning and cleansing for the weekends, and retwist my hair every night, no matter how lazy I want to be. I also minimize the amount of products I put on my hair during this time so I’m not creating product build-up. 6. What is your daily morning regimen? My daily morning regimen is simple. I modify my style from the day before, and spend no more than 20 minutes on my hair. I leave the true styling for my Sunday prep. My morning is carefully plotted out and spending too much time in the bathroom will kill my commute. 7. What is your daily night time regimen? I retwist. I don’t sleep with bobby pins in my hair and don’t suggest anyone to go to bed with sharp objects on their scalp. I retwist and prep my hair for the style I plan on wearing the next morning. 8. Do you use heat on your hair at all? No, I don’t. I’ve had my hair blow dried twice in Jazzy’s natural existence by two professional hair stylists. (Felicia Leatherwood of Loving Your Hair With Natural Care and Veola Jolly of Do You Naturally Hair Salon). I truly believe in Home Hair Care and one of the first pillars of HHC that I’ve designed is knowing when to go to a professional stylist. Applying heat for me is one of those times. I’ve also seen enough of my hair in a straight form during my relaxed days. It was uneventful to me, so I’m not interested in seeing my natural hair straightened with heat at this time.
9. Do you braid your hair? If so, how often do you do so in a year? I haven’t braided my hair since my failed mission with mini braids. Oh my goodness, what a waste of my life. Once I returned back to my natural hair, I noticed doing braids on my hair was more work than twists. I didn’t know how to twist but I taught myself and once the twist light turned one, I stopped braiding all together and have not revisited braids since 2011. If you want to see someone fail, watch my Mini Braid video. It’s hilarious because nothing screamed success in that video, and I should have known better. 10. Wide-tooth comb or Denman brush? Wide-Tooth, no question hands down the best tool for detangling. 11. Is your hair normally loose or in a protective-do? I go back and forth between loose and protective styling, especially during the hotter seasons (Spring & Summer). During the winter, I put Jazzy on a Protective Style schedule and only let her out in 2-3 day increments. 12. Have you ever had a hair tragedy? What was it? How did you recover from it? I had a hair fail once that turned into a great lessons learned video. I decided to use curlformers on my natural hair. Now, I had experience using curlformers during my relaxed days before they had blown up in the natural world. However, once I returned back to my natural hair, I didn’t truly understand how to effectively add the curlformers into my thicker natural hair. The end result was a hot mess, came out looking like the struggle up close. 13. What's your biggest tip for maintaining healthy or long hair? Learn who to watch and who to follow. There is a difference. We have a lot of information circulating. However, all information isn’t good or correct information. Your first line of defense to maintaining healthy hair is education. You must understand how your hair differs from the people you watch vs. follow. No matter whom you watch vs. follow; healthy hair comes first with education. I can tell you many things about maintaining your hair but if you’re not willing to follow it, challenge it and find out how you can work it into your hair regimen then you will be lost. Healthy hair will always start at your fingertips. Learn what works for you and your hair. Although we are all Butterflies, not two are the same. If you put healthy hair first, the rest will come and if it doesn’t you must lean on your understanding of the genetics of hair growth. 14. Where can we find you online? 1. What's your name and where are you from?
My Name is Peace Pressley and I am from Atlanta, GA 2. What is your hair type? I personally don't hair type, but to others I would be a 4B/4C
3. When did you go natural and what made you do it?
I started growing my hair out in Aug 2005, and I did my BC in Mar 2006. I decided to go natural when I saw how wonderful my mother looked after growing hers out. 4. What was the most challenging thing about going natural? The most challenging part about going natural for me was the transition. I only transitioned for 7 months because I couldn't deal with the shedding and breakage from have two different textures in my hair. I was BEYOND ecstatic after my BC! 5. What is your weekly regimen? My wash day is either Friday or Sunday. I prepoo with coconut out or an oil mix (Olive, coconut, avocado, jojoba, castor, carrot, sweet almond, vitamin E and peppermint oils). After 30 minutes, I wash it out using anyone of my favorite shampoos. Currently I'm using Clear Ultimate Shea Butter Shampoo and Nothing But Clarifying. (My shampoo choices vary depending on what I need). I detangle using Trader Joe's Nourish Spa Conditioner and the DC with Nothing But Intense Healing Mask, Eden Body Works Jojoba Monoi Deep Conditioner, and my Huetiful Steamer. After steaming for 20 minutes, I apply a cream leave-in conditioner either homemade (2 Tbsp aloe vera, 2 tsp caster oil, 2 tbs jojoba, and 2 Tbsp of my favorite regular leave-in )or store bought (Ouidad Moisture Lock and Karen Body Beautiful Ambrosia Leave-in together) 6. What is your daily morning regimen? I usually take down my chunky twists, fluff, style and leave. Styling for me is not much before work. 7. What is your daily night time regimen? If my hair is already moisturized, I add a little of either Crown-n-Glory Royal butter or Qhemet Biologics Alma and Olive Heavy Cream. If I need moisture, I'll use my handheld Q-Redew to steam each section then add one of the butter/creams above. 8. Do you use heat on your hair at all? I very rarely use heat on my hair. It gets pressed about 3 times a year. I own a curling wand which I have only used once so far, but LOVE it. The last time I used a blow dryer was to stretch my twists, not to actually blow my hair.
9. Do you braid your hair? If so, how often do you do so in a year? I do braid and add extensions to my hair. I often do it myself and I prefer Havanna/Marley Twists. Last year, I did them about 4 times. 10 Wide-tooth comb or Denman brush? I use a wide tooth shower comp and a Tangle Teezer. 11. Is your hair normally loose or in a protective-do? It's a mix of both for me. In one week I usually wear both loose and protective hair styles. When I'm lazy I use more protective styling. 12. Have you ever had a hair tragedy? What was it? How did you recover from it? Wow! Who hasn't??!! I'll never forget mine: After being natural for a couple of months I decided to go and get my hair pressed for the first time. The style was super cute, but when I went to wash it, 2 sections of my hair did not curl back. It turned out that the stylist pressed my hair too hard with the hot comb. It was my first saddening instance of heat damage. I had to grow it out and trim it off little my little. After that I did not press my hair for 3 years and no one was ever touching my hair with with a hot comb again!! 13. What's your biggest tip for maintaining healthy or long hair? Trim your ends! There is no amount moisturizing and protective styling that can fix split ends. 14. Where can we find you online? (blog, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube etc).

1. What's your name and where are you from?
My name is Roshini Cope, also known as Glamazini. I was born and raised on St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands. 2. What is your hair type? 3C in front and the crown, 4a at the nape and 4b/c on the sides near my ears.
3. When did you go natural and what made you do it?
In 1999, I found a thinning spot in my hair and went natural soon afterward. I thought the relaxer was making me lose my hair, and figured I’d press my hair instead. I learned so much about my natural texture that I decided to wear it in its curly state. 4. What was the most challenging thing about going natural? I have thick, dense, fast growing hair. As it gains length it takes a lot of work to wash and style. 5. What is your weekly regimen? At my current length (4”) my regimen is pretty simple. I deep condition, wash and style every other week. I’ve been rocking a wash-n-go, finger shingles, bantu knotouts and afro puffs. 6. What is your daily morning regimen? Depending on the style, I shower with or without a shower cap. I spray with water and/or leave-in conditioner then shape with my fingers. 7. What is your daily night time regimen? I sleep on a satin pillowcase with a satin scarf or bonnet #overkill LOL. 8. Do you use heat on your hair at all? I use a blowdryer with a diffuser attachment to dry my wash-n-go.
9. Do you braid your hair? If so, how often do you do so in a year? Recently I wore microbraids and did a series here: Glamazini Microbraid Series. Otherwise I reserve braids for when my hair is longer. 10 Wide-tooth comb or Denman brush? Wide-tooth detangler pick and modified Denman brush with rows of teeth removed. 11. Is your hair normally loose or in a protective-do? At this length it is usually loose, as it grows I do more protective styles. 12. Have you ever had a hair tragedy? What was it? How did you recover from it? Not really, I’m pretty easy going when it comes to hair so I rarely count anything as a tragedy. I once had someone put glue on my braids that I had to cut out, and also have had texture change from using heat. I’m sure that would have been tragic to someone LOL 13. What's your biggest tip for maintaining healthy or long hair? Moisturize, especially your ends, and leave it alone. 14. Where can we find you online? (blog, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube etc). 1. What's your name and where are you from?
My name is Deanna Bocâge-Pace. I was born and raised in New Orleans but have spent a great portion of my life in Virginia. 2. What is your hair type? I have type 4 hair (a mixture of all 3)
3. When did you go natural and what made you do it?
I did my big chop in March 2010. I was tired of going through repeated cycles of growth followed by breakage and a lot of shedding. So I decided to give it a try. 4. What was the most challenging thing about going natural? For me, it was going through the growing phase and getting my hair to a length that I felt I could work with. I wanted big hair! 5. What is your weekly regimen? When I find the time, I may co-wash once a week and do what I call "the works" toward the end of the week or every 2 weeks. I shampoo, condition, deep condition and treat my scalp using apple cider vinegar. 6. What is your daily morning regimen? I don't always have the energy to retwist every night so I usually wear my hair in a low maintenance semi protective style during the week and where my hair out on the weekend days. In the morning, I usually just take off my bonnet, fix up my edges or refresh my style and go. 7. What is your daily night time regimen? I may add some moisturizer to my hair, put on my bonnet and go to bed :) 8. Do you use heat on your hair at all? Yes, I use heat on my hair. I may straighten my hair twice a year. I will use my blow dryer on a low setting to stretch my hair if I'm going for that type of look.
9. Do you braid your hair? If so, how often do you do so in a year? I don't care for braiding because I generally don't have the patience. I think I have done maybe 2 braidouts since I've been natural. I haven't done any braid extensions on my hair myself. 10 Wide-tooth comb or Denman brush? Yes, I have used both. I use my Denman or Tangle Teezer to detangle with conditioner on my hair. 11. Is your hair normally loose or in a protective-do? I would say it's about 50/50. I do both. 12. Have you ever had a hair tragedy? What was it? How did you recover from it? No, I haven't and prayerfully I don't but it's hair so I believe it will grow back. 13. What's your biggest tip for maintaining healthy or long hair? Moisturize and Seal. Whenever you feel your hair is dry and in need of nourishment, spritz some water (THE best moisturizer) on your hair in sections and apply a moisturizer followed by an oil to seal in the moisture. My favorite oils are jojoba oil, extra virgin olive oil, castor oil and grape seed oil. 14. Where can we find you online? (blog, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube etc). I can be found here:

1. What's your name and where are you from?
I’m Lola and I’m from Lagos, Nigeria. I currently live in the United Kingdom (London). 2. What is your hair type? My hair types are 4a/4b. I’m 4a (coily) around my edges and nape area, with 4b (kinky) at the crown and majority of my hair. I get A LOT of shrinkage (from waist up above my collar bone).
3. When did you go natural and what made you do it?
I started transitioning to natural in January 2010 with my last relaxer in November 2009. I decided to go natural after finding CurlyNikki.com and discovering lots of amazing naturals on YouTube. I was texlaxing my hair for the year beforehand and I liked my thicker hair! Natural was the next step for me at that point. 4. What was the most challenging thing about going natural? I decided I would transition for at least 2 years because I was too attached to my Mid-back length hair. I had waited too long for that length to cut it all off! My family weren’t too thrilled with the decision but they did come around eventually – it only took 2 years, lol! Caring for the demarcation line between my relaxed hair and natural growth was hardest when detangling, aka wash days. 5. What is your weekly regimen? I co-wash my hair once a week with Tresemme Naturals Vibrantly Smooth Conditioner or one of my homemade mixes and finish with an apple cider vinegar rinse. I leave some conditioner in my hair before the final rinse to keep it soft! I oil and finger-detangle my damp hair and install a protective style like two-strand twists or flat twists. I deep condition or do a Rhassoul Clay mud wash treatment every 2-4 weeks. 6. What is your daily morning regimen? In the morning, I remove my satin scarf and bonnet and moisturize with a water and Aloe vera juice spray and seal with a light oil! 7. What is your daily night time regimen? I moisturize with my moisture spray mix and lightly oil before covering with a satin scarf and bonnet. Simple! 8. Do you use heat on your hair at all? I don’t use any heat on my hair. I air-dry my Curlformer sets overnight (takes around 5 hours to dry). Bantu knot-outs take forever and a day to dry (I may start using a hooded dryer).
9. Do you braid your hair? If so, how often do you do so in a year? I use two-strand twists as a protective style for most of the year. I rarely braid my hair. If I have loose twists, I keep them for 1 month maximum. With flat-twists and two-strand twists, I re-do them every 2 weeks and remove after 1 month total. 10 Wide-tooth comb or Denman brush? Neither, lol! I have found the Denman pulls too much on my hair and I’m too much a fan of finger-detangling to go back to the wide-tooth comb. I recently bought a new hair brush from Bellebene at a hair event in Paris. It has no back so the combs are more flexible. They also appear to be seamless. I will reserve it for once a month thorough detangling before a curly set. 11. Is your hair normally loose or in a protective-do? My hair is usually in a protective style. However, I am experimenting more with curly sets to free it! Lol! I want to enjoy my length and thickness whilst being able to throw it in a bun when needed. 12. Have you ever had a hair tragedy? What was it? How did you recover from it? I can’t think of a hair tragedy. I guess before my hair journey it seemed like every salon visit was a tragedy (the dreaded trim that’s really a cut) but I can’t think of any during my journey so far. 13. What's your biggest tip for maintaining healthy or long hair? My biggest tip is to learn to style your hair yourself. Get one go-to style you can do with your eyes closed. That way, you will never feel like a victim of bad hair days! This allows me to keep going with my regimen and still look cute! If you don’t feel confident about your hair, you will give up just before you’ve achieved the results you want. Be patient whilst perfecting this style though - my flat twists took almost 2 years look great. 14. Where can we find you online? (blog, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube etc).

1. What's your name and where are you from?
My name is Michaelle Vilsa and I'm from Spring Valley, Ny 2. What is your hair type? My hair type is 4a/4b
3. When did you go natural and what made you do it?
I went Natural May 2012. My hair was severely damaged and my dear good friend was telling me how severely damaged it was and telling me I needed to big chop and go natural, but I was scared! So later on she found an alternative and started braiding my hair with yarn...basically I was transitioning and I never looked back! 4. What was the most challenging thing about going natural? Transitioning and people questioning my hair. People would like the new do, but there would be people that would question what was on top of my head. It became hard and humiliating, like they would make fun of my hair. And transitioning, I would have to cut my hair every time I took out the yarn cause of new growth, but I knew at the end of that humiliation...The prize was grand! 5. What is your weekly regimen? Well I spray my water bottle every 2 days, put shea butter every 2 days, put oil every 3 days and wash my hair every week. 6. What is your daily morning regimen? As of now I have yarn so I just put it in a bun, lol! 7. What is your daily night time regimen? I put a satin scarf around my hair and a satin cover on my pillow... Don't wanna be too careful! 8. Do you use heat on your hair at all? NOOOO! I refuse! Never again... I cannot!
9. Do you braid your hair? If so, how often do you do so in a year? If so, how often do you do so in a year? Well I keep it in every month and when I do take it out I leave it out 3-4 weeks and back to yarn... I've had the yarn since May 2012. 10. Wide-tooth comb or Denman brush? Blue wide tooth comb. 11. Is your hair normally loose or in a protective-do? Protective do, everyday! 12. Have you ever had a hair tragedy? What was it? How did you recover from it? Yes!! OMG like I was in the city and I had a college audition and my hair was in twistout but it was snowing really hard and it was blowing everywhere. When I got to the building, I felt like the snow did something to my hair. As I entered the bathroom, my twists were done! Unraveled! Ugly! So I basically put it in a ponytail and did two bangs. Nailed my audition! 13. What's your biggest tip for maintaining healthy or long hair? L.O.C: Liquid, Oil, Cream. 14. Where can we find you online? (blog, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube) Most likely:

1. What's your name and where are you from?
My name is Samantha, and I'm from the Bronx, New York. 2. What is your hair type? 4c
3. When did you go natural and what made you do it?
I went natural in September of 2011 after watching tons of youtube videos on hair care and figuring that natural was best for me. I've never had really healthy hair and my hair would always break off. Relaxers and improper hair care techniques made my naturally thick and coarse hair prone to breakage and thinning, so I spread out the time between each relaxer I would get and noticed my new growth was healthier and my hair began to grow past it's usual length. I decided to do the "Big Chop" after 8 months of transitioning, I cut off most of the natural hair I grew because I couldn't find the right style until hair cut #3, but it was well worth it because I loved the hair style. 4. What was the most challenging thing about going natural? Dealing with everyone else's perception of my hair. My family is west indian (from Saint Lucia), so they tend to be a little more vocal than other people about how they feel about my hair and how they perceive it, but I was so happy about my new hair journey that I didn't let it get me down. It's almost 2 1/2 years into my journey I've won most of them over. 5. What is your weekly regimen? I co-wash with Giovanni Smooth as Silk Conditioner every other week and sometimes once a month. When I co-wash I deep condition with olive oil for about an hour with a shower cap on. I then rinse it out with conditioner and then apply conditioner, let it sit for about 10 minutes and then rinse it off. After that I do an Apple Cider Vinegar rinse and rinse it off with cold water. After that I let my hair air dry while in twists and in a t shirt. Moisturize with Kinky Curly Knot Today, then Shea Moisture's Curl Enhancing Smoothie (or one of my products) and then Seal with Castor oil. 6. What is your daily morning regimen? I moisturize my scalp with olive oil and Curl Enhancing Smoothie or Kinky Curly Knot Today and then seal in the moisture with castor oil. 7. What is your daily night time regimen? The same as my daily regimen, I moisturize my scalp and hair and then seal it in with castor oil. After that, I tie a satin head scarf over my hair. 8. Do you use heat on your hair at all? No
9. Do you braid your hair? If so, how often do you do so in a year? Yes, I get my hair braided (and sometimes twisted) with extensions about 3 or 4 times a year. 10. Wide-tooth comb or Denman brush? Most of them time I use neither, I finger comb my hair, but if someone else is working on my hair I use a wide-tooth comb. 11. Is your hair normally loose or in a protective-do? My hair is usually in a protective style either with extensions or my own hair. 12. Have you ever had a hair tragedy? What was it? How did you recover from it? Oh yes, I had a "fake" henna accident. I used this semi permanent henna has a hair dye (it was supposed to dye my hair light brown, and of course henna does not do that and I should've known better, but I used it anyway). The color did not take, and made my hair feel dry and loosen some of the kinks (a tiny section) in the back of my head, that were already looser than the rest of my hair. With deep conditioning treatments overnight and shampooing the "fake" henna out of my hair i was able to restore my hair back to normal. I was lucky, many people just cut their hair off after. 13. What's your biggest tip for maintaining healthy or long hair? Always use the LOC or LCO method and protect your ends (including trimming when necessary). It's important to listen to your hair, it will tell you when it needs an ACV rinse or a Protein or deep conditioning treatment, when you figure out how to listen to it, health and length will come. 14. Where can we find you online? (blog, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube etc) Here is where you can find me:

1. What's your name and where are you from?
My name is Ashley a.k.a FabEllis and I am from North Carolina. 2. What is your hair type? My hair type is a mixture of 3C/4A.
3. When did you go natural and what made you do it?
I made the decision to go natural in October 2010. I transitioned for five months and then did the big chop in February 2011. I decided to go natural after realizing that a keratin treatment I had was not washing out my hair after a year of having the treatment applied. 4. What was the most challenging thing about going natural? The most challenging thing about going natural was learning my hair and taking the time to style it. 5. What is your weekly regimen? My weekly regimen is simple. I wash with shampoo, condition, deep condition, rinse, do the LOC method and style in two strand twists while wet. Some of my favorite products are Shea Moisture Moisture Retention Shampoo, Pantene Truly Natural Shampoo and Deep Conditioner and Cantu Deep Treatment Masque. 6. What is your daily morning regimen? In the morning, I remove my satin bonnet and let the steam from the shower hit my hair. If necessary, I may apply oil to my hair and/or scalp. 7. What is your daily night time regimen? I place a satin bonnet on my hair. I detest retwisting my hair so I refuse to do it. 8. Do you use heat on your hair at all? I do have heat applied to my hair a few times a year mainly when clipping my ends.
9. Do you braid your hair? If so, how often do you do so in a year? I have my hair braided a few times a year, but typically it is braided to have a sew in or crochet braids. 10. Wide-tooth comb or Denman brush? I've never used the Denman brush. I typically use a wide tooth comb or detangling comb. 11. Is your hair normally loose or in a protective-do? I normally wear my hair loose. 12. Have you ever had a hair tragedy? What was it? How did you recover from it? I'm not sure if I would classify the incident a hair tragedy, but it was a traumatic experience. In 2012, I had my hair straightened at a Dominican salon for the first time since going natural. I had excessive heat damage. After multiple deep conditionings, I realized the hair was truly damaged. I simply allowed it to grow out. That definitely taught me to be careful with how much heat is applied to my hair. 13. What's your biggest tip for maintaining healthy or long hair? My biggest tip would be to try to not style or manipulate your hair everyday. I have found that only manipulating my hair has allowed it to grow so much! 14. Where can we find you online? 1. What's your name and where are you from?
I’m Toia B. and I’m from Brooklyn, NY via Barbados, W.I. 2. What is your hair type? I actually prefer not to categorize my hair using the hair chart or typing system. I simply describe my hair as “kinky” in most areas, “coily” in others.
3. When did you go natural and what made you do it?
I started the journey to return to my natural texture in early 2009 and cut off all the relaxed hair in October of that year. I was just tired of the constant routine of relaxing which always involved a burning scalp! My husband would always encourage me to stop. When the week came for me to apply the touch-up, I didn’t. I decided I was done with chemically straightening my hair for good! 4. What was the most challenging thing about going natural? First, there was actually learning about my hair and how to properly care for it. I made a lot of mistakes that first year! I also had to overcome a bit of hair envy, watching as the hair of certain YouTubers seemed to grow at alarming rates while mine seemed to be stuck in one place. I quickly learned and accepted that we’re all different and that comparing was counterproductive. 5. What is your weekly regimen? Every week, I moisturize with SheaMoisture Extra Moisture Detangler and use Jamaican Black Castor Oil on my scalp. On wash day (every 2 weeks), I’ll use the same detangling product along with my Q-Redew hair steamer to detangle prior to washing. Makes life MUCH easier! Cleansing products differ from week-to-week but generally, with my hair in about 7 sections, I shampoo, deep condition, apply Karen’s Body Beautiful Sweet Ambrosia Leave-In Conditioner and then seal with an oil or butter. I’ll usually then plait my hair to give it some stretch and let it air dry. On days that I blow it out, I use grapeseed oil as a sealant and heat protectant. When I feel I need some extra moisture, I may steam even on weeks that I’m not washing or to refresh a style. 6. What is your daily morning regimen? If I’m wearing my hair in a loose fro, I’ll refresh with some Sweet Ambrosia, then seal with her Butter Love, shake and go. If I’m rocking a protective style like Marley Twists, I apply my spray bottle mix to my scalp and the length of my hair, then follow-up with either the Butter Love or an oil to seal. 7. What is your daily night time regimen? Depending on how tired (lazy) I am, I may apply the aforementioned detangler and either loosely twist my hair in 6-8 random sections and cover with a bonnet or pineapple the hair (gather hair at the top of my head) with a scarf & cover the loose ends with my bonnet. I always wear a satin head-covering to bed! 8. Do you use heat on your hair at all? Yes, but I try to keep it as minimal as possible. I blow my out hair no more than twice a month and always use medium heat, never high.
9. Do you braid your hair? If so, how often do you do so in a year? About twice a year, maybe three, I’ll install Marley twists to give my hair a rest. On occasion, I’ll do a few cornrow styles. 10. Wide-tooth comb or Denman brush? Neither. I either use my fingers or my Tangle-Teezer… love it! 11. Is your hair normally loose or in a protective-do? These days, I keep it in protective styles way more than I do loose. It really helps me retain length and get out the door quicker! 12. Have you ever had a hair tragedy? What was it? How did you recover from it? I once had a professional color put in my hair and then I relaxed my roots exactly one week later. I was able to do that with box colors with no problem so I didn’t think there’d be an issue. Well, my hair was coming out in clumps! Surprisingly, given the areas from which the hair fell, I was able to camouflage so no one was the wiser. It all grew back just fine. :-) 13. What's your biggest tip for maintaining healthy or long hair? Healthy hair starts from within! Drinking lots of water, having a balanced diet to include fruits and veggies, exercise, plus taking a daily multi-vitamin will aid in healthy hair growth. Once you achieve and maintain healthy hair, length will follow, if that’s your goal. 14. Where can we find you online? (blog, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube etc)
