1. What's your name and where are you from?
My name is Paulah and I currently live in Atlanta, GA. 2. What is your hair type? 4a/4b
3. When did you go natural and what made you do it?
I went natural at the end of my freshman year of undergrad. I was inspired by a few of my friends and I really wanted to see if I could grow my hair as long as some of the natural hair ladies I saw on YouTube. 4. What was the most challenging thing about going natural? The hardest part about going natural was just accepting my hair and how it looked on me. I was used to straight hair and weaves and at first I just didn’t know if I felt pretty with natural hair. But I got over all of that by looking at natural hair blogs for inspiration and learning how to style my hair. 5. What is your weekly regimen? I wash my hair with a sulfate free shampoo, deep condition, and blow-dry in sections. Then I’ll usually do a twistout or just put it in a low bun for the week. 6. What is your daily morning regimen? Usually I’m taking out twists or styling it into a low bun. I’ve stopped using a whole lot of different products on my hair, so when I put it into a bun I mainly just use water and a little conditioner. 7. What is your daily night time regimen? I’ll use water, oil, and styling cream to twist my hair and then cover it with a satin scarf. Sometimes I do the GreenHouse Method, so I’ll put a little oil (usually Jamaican Black Castor Oil) on each twist and my scalp and cover my hair with a plastic shower cap, then cover it with a satin bonnet. This really helps my hair to grow but the castor oil can be thick and weigh my hair down, so I’ll definitely wear it in a bun the next day. 8. Do you use heat on your hair at all? Yes, I use heat sometimes. I usually blow dry my hair after each wash, but not always if I’m being lazy. Every few months I’ll straighten my hair in order to trim my ends or just to see how much it has grown.
9. Do you braid your hair? If so, how often do you do so in a year?
Yes, I love Senegalese Twists and Marley Twists. I’ll get my hair braided or do it myself probably 2-3 times a year when I want a break. 10. Wide-tooth comb or Denman brush? Finger detangling! But wide-tooth combs and Denman brushes are both very useful too. 11. Is your hair normally loose or in a protective-do? Now that my hair is longer it’s normally in a protective style just because my hair can get so big that it’s distracting when I’m working or at school, so that’s where the low bun comes in. But on the weekends or whenever I feel like it, I will rock a twist out or flexi rod set. 12. Have you ever had a hair tragedy? What was it? How did you recover from it? Not really, my biggest hair tragedy was being relaxed for so long! I’ve given myself some uneven haircuts as a natural because I never go to the salon, but it wasn’t that big of a deal. 13. What's your biggest tip for maintaining healthy or long hair? Don’t be afraid of water and use protective styles and learn how to finger detangle. Even though I blow-dry my hair, if my ends feel dry, I’ll put some water in my hands and just run it through my hair. Finger detangling isn’t nearly as much work as people make it seem once you get the hang of it – I only use combs and brushes on wash day when my hair is slathered in conditioner. And protective styles, well duh! 14. Where can we find you online? (blog, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube etc).

1. What's your name and where are you from?
My name is Priscilla, I’m from London. 2. What is your hair type? 4B/C
3. When did you go natural and what made you do it?
I transitioned in 2012 for a year and did the big chop in 2013. I decided to go natural because my texturised hair was damaged and I wanted healthier hair, to care and grow my hair longer. 4. What was the most challenging thing about going natural? Finding the right moisturiser. 5. What is your weekly regimen? I do my wash day bi-weekly, so I would shampoo, condition and deep condition. Throughout the week, I would moisturise my hair with water, any moisturiser of my choice and my oil mix. Occasionally, I would co-wash through the week depending on my hair demand. 6. What is your daily morning regimen? In the morning, I spray my hair with water and detangle, then I apply my moisturiser which currently is Shea Moisture Coconut and Hibiscus Curl and Style Milk. 7. What is your daily night time regimen? I am very lazy with my night routine, I hardly ever re-twist at night; I usually put my hair in a ponytail and tie my satin scarf. 8. Do you use heat on your hair at all? I avoid heat at all cost, only because of the process of heat protecting. However, I have used heat on my hair 4 times in 2014 but this was spread out over the course of the year.
9. Do you braid your hair? If so, how often do you do so in a year?
I love to braid my hair but not very often roughly 10 times in a year. 10. Wide-tooth comb or Denman brush? Lately, Denman brush. 11. Is your hair normally loose or in a protective-do? Loose. I am not a very big fan of protective-dos. 12. Have you ever had a hair tragedy? What was it? How did you recover from it? Yes. When I used to texturise my hair, I got a really bad scalp burn across my hair but thank God I still have hair follicles left. I didn't do much to it at the time apart from leave it to soften and use Vaseline. However, if it has to be since I have gone natural, then I would say the failures of my wash n go’s. 13. What's your biggest tip for maintaining healthy or long hair? Patience, keep doing what you are doing. Don’t give up, in due time you will accomplish your goal. 14. Where can we find you online? 1. What's your name and where are you from?
My name is Nika Ruffin. I am from Monroe, Louisiana. I currently live in Shreveport, Louisiana. 2. What is your hair type? My hair type is 3c in the front, and 4a at the top and in the back. I also have low porosity hair.
3. When did you go natural and what made you do it?
I started out natural until the age of 10 yrs old. I got my first relaxer at the age of 11. I choose to return back to my natural tresses on September 24, 2011. I didn't like my relaxed hair because it was very, very thin. It never held a curl, and it would literally be stuck to my head from chemical burns. I hated that. 4. What was the most challenging thing about going natural? The most challenging thing for me was finding the right products for my hair type. It seemed like everything I tried made my hair dry. I had to learn which ingredients my hair likes and doesn't like. I had to learn to not weigh my hair down with a lot of product because I have fine low porosity hair. It has been a challenge learning my hair, but I have enjoyed the journey of getting to know what works for my hair. 5. What is your weekly regimen? My hair regimen consists of me doing a hot oil/deep conditioning treatment every week on Sunday using Shea Moisture Black Soap Purification Masque mixed with Olive Oil, Peppermint oil, and Tea Tree Oil followed by a clarifying cowash using VO5 Kiwi Lime Clarifying Conditioner. After I co-wash I use a leave-in conditioner by Giovanni Smooth as Silk Deeper Moisture conditioner or Kinky Curly Leave in conditioner. I use Eco Styler argan oil gel to lay my edges down. I always flat twist or regular two strand twist. I don't do wash n go's often because my curls get really tangled, and I get fairy knots. I choose to twist my hair in order to keep my hair stretched. Shrinkage is real! 6. What is your daily morning regimen? Every morning I take my satin scarf off and I untwist my hair. I always add a little bit of almond oil for shine and then I fluff my hair and that's it. If my hair is in a low bun I take it down and fluff. I keep my regimen very simple. 7. What is your daily night time regimen? At night I spritz my hair with water then I add a little bit of Kinky Curly leave in conditioner and I retwist my hair nightly. On the nights I don't feel like twisting I always put my hair in a low bun. I sleep in satin scarf. 8. Do you use heat on your hair at all? Yes I flat iron my hair every 6 months to do a trim. I also sit under my hooded dryer for 30 mins whenever I do my hot oil deep treatment. You can find my Youtube video showing how I do my hot oil deep treatment here:
9. Do you braid your hair? If so, how often do you do so in a year?
I do braid-outs every now and then to give my curl pattern a different look. I like doing braid-outs once or twice a month. 10. Wide-tooth comb or Denman brush? Neither. I prefer to finger detangle my hair because combs and brushes pull my hair out. I don't lose as much hair when I finger detangle. 11. Is your hair normally loose or in a protective-do? I've never had a protective style. I normally wear my hair loose or in a high bun. I love to wear high buns whenever I feel I need a break from my hair. 12. Have you ever had a hair tragedy? What was it? How did you recover from it? My low porosity texture didn’t take when I tried to lift my jet black hair to a lighter color. It did not lift at all. Only my roots turned a bright orange color, and the rest of my hair was still black. It was a total disaster. So I just dyed it back to black. I later learned that the only way to get rid of permanent jet black dye is to use bleach or let the black hair dye grow off then cut it. 13. What's your biggest tip for maintaining healthy or long hair? My best hair tip is use a sulfate-free shampoo or just co-wash (conditioner only washing), don’t use a lot of heat, keep your hair trimmed when needed, keep your hair moisturized, keep your scalp clean, and your hair will grow. My best hair advice to anyone who is considering going natural is to not let the negative opinions from others stop you. You will have people that don’t like your hair, but just let them know that you like it and that’s all that matters. When I did my big chop I had coworkers tell me they hated my hair, and now those same people are telling me they love my hair. People will always have negative opinions whether you are relaxed or natural. I pay them no mind. So if you are thinking about going natural go for it, and you won’t regret it. 14. 1. What's your name and where are you from?
My name is Allison from New Orleans (USA) - the Big Easy!! 2. What is your hair type? 4c
3. When did you go natural and what made you do it?
I went natural in 2010. I’m an older natural and I notice due to hormonal changes my hair was starting to break off and I had thinning spots around my temples. 4. What was the most challenging thing about going natural? Finding products that would keep my hair moisturized and healthy. A lot of products are fluff and scent but I wanted healthy options for my hair. 5. What is your weekly regimen? I make an ayurvedic treatment for my hair using Cassia, Amla, Brahmi etc. I will always clarify my hair once a month to remove product build up from the scalp and hair. I ALWAYS follow up with a deep condition and my final rinse is done with a Tea Rinse. The deep condition/tea rinses are NON NEGOTIABLE. 6. What is your daily morning regimen? I recently big chopped my hair again into a tapered look, so I moisturize the sides and the back and use a sponge to make coils around the sides and back. 7. What is your daily night time regimen? Moisturize and seal my entire head, I use the LOC Method (Liquid, Oil, Cream). 8. Do you use heat on your hair at all? Before cutting my hair for the 2nd time I used heat 3x since returning to my natural state
9. Do you braid your hair? If so, how often do you do so in a year?
I am allergic to the hair used in braided styles even after soaking it in vinegar so, no. 10. Wide-tooth comb or Denman brush? Fingers, on wash day wide-tooth comb. 11. Is your hair normally loose or in a protective-do? I wear my hair in a loose style. 12. Have you ever had a hair tragedy? What was it? How did you recover from it? As I mentioned earlier I am allergic to the add-in hair regardless of whether it's synthetic or human and even though I took steps by soaking in vinegar it irritated my scalp. Right before my tapered cut I decided to get a protective style done. My scalp was instantly so sore and itchy that the next day I had to take the style out. I noticed my hair had severe damage and my scalp was sore to the touch. I made a tea rinse using herbs that I knew were soothing to the scalp. I had been considering a tapered cut for a while and with the damage done to my hair it was the perfect excuse to get my hair cut and I LOVE IT!!! The hair will grow back and I have a stunning hair cut. 13. What's your biggest tip for maintaining healthy or long hair? Keep your hair moisturized, when you find products that work for you keep using them, don’t become a product junkie. Eat healthy, drink plenty of water and exercise not just for hair growth but for a healthy life style. 14. Where can we find you online? (blog, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube etc).

My name is Uhunmwangho Ifueko and I am from Nigeria 2. What is your hair type? My hair is mixed with 4c/4b
3. When did you go natural and what made you do it?
I noticed relaxers destroyed my hair and I felt God made me with kinks so I have no right to change it. 4. What was the most challenging thing about going natural? People trying to discourage you (more than once people have called my hair bushy). 5. What is your weekly regimen? I prepoo with a natural oil mix, then I wash my hair with black soap shampoo, deep condition with honey, oil, mayo and sometimes eggs and other things in my kitchen, then I condition my hair with Vo5 moisture milk, then apply ors leave in conditioner and seal it in with a hair butter I make. 6. What is your daily morning regimen? Spray my hair with water, apply my leave in conditioner and seal in with coconut, olive or jbc oil. 7. What is your daily night time regimen? Spray with water, apply my hair butter and put my hair in braids. 8. Do you use heat on your hair at all? I haven't used heat on my hair since I went natural.
9. Do you braid your hair? If so, how often do you do so in a year?
I love braids, like 4 times a year. 10. Wide-tooth comb or Denman brush? Wide tooth comb. 11. Is your hair normally loose or in a protective-do? I regularly have both loose hair and protective-dos. 12. Have you ever had a hair tragedy? What was it? How did you recover from it? I had one when I lost my hair bonnet, my hair wasn't very protected at night. I now ensure to keep a spare bonnet to-hand. 13. What's your biggest tip for maintaining healthy or long hair? 1. What's your name and where are you from?
My name is Daphney, I am Haitian-American raised and still reside in New Jersey. 2. What is your hair type? My hair type is 3c on the top and a mix of 3c and 4a on the sides and back of my head.
3. When did you go natural and what made you do it?
I went back to natural in 2010. At the time I was doing my son’s hair and I was always trying to find ways to do his hair with minimal pain. So I decided to research the ingredients in the products I was using and did not like them. So I began doing more research and found so much useful information. I didn't know all the negative effects that relaxer could have on my health. What sealed the deal was when I watched the movie by Chris Rock “Good Hair”. Especially the part when the scientist tested the ingredients on a soda can and it deteriorated and when he found out that black women would put this in their hair, his reaction was priceless, “Now why would they do that?!”. 4. What was the most challenging thing about going natural? Finding what works for me was the most challenging. We get so caught up on YouTube videos thinking that they are holy grails to all things DIY/Beauty/Hair, and fail to realize that these videos are solely documentaries of that persons experience. Initially, once you find what works for you, stick with that, and if you need to make adjustments, then do that. 5. What is your weekly regimen? I do not wash my hair weekly, especially since its getting longer. I wash my hair bi-weekly and I DC every time. I usually put my hair in twists, coils, or flat twists for a couple of days and than take them out. I do practice the LCO method (Leave-in, Cream, Oil) because it does keep my hair moisturized, manageable and shiny longer. 6. What is your daily morning regimen? I am very simple and I cannot afford to be consumed too much by my hair. In the mornings if I am taking my hair out, I usually pick the roots (depending on the style), shake it and keep it moving. If it’s a little dry I may add a small amount of serum and that’s about it. 7. What is your daily night time regimen? I retwist my hair in chunky twists and put a satin bonnet on. If I am lazy, I just put the bonnet on lol. 8. Do you use heat on your hair at all? I rarely use heat on my hair. I really prefer my hair in its natural texture as opposed to being straight. If I add heat, it's once a year.
9. Do you braid your hair? If so, how often do you do so in a year?
I do not braid my hair. I am too afraid of the weight and I am also afraid of how it will pull my edges out. 10. Wide-tooth comb or Denman brush? I would have to say both. I use the wide-tooth comb to take most of the tangles out and then I run the Denman brush through to make sure my hair is completely detangled and smooth. 11. Is your hair normally loose or in a protective-do? My hair is normally loose, but I will be practicing more protective styles this year. 12. Have you ever had a hair tragedy? What was it? How did you recover from it? The only thing I can think of was the fact that my boyfriend at the time couldn’t stand the fact that I cut off all of my hair. He wanted me to put a relaxer back because he was over it. It hurt my feelings at that time, but I stood my ground and refused to put a relaxer and just didn’t care how he felt about it. I told him that if I put a relaxer back in, he would have to cut his dreads off, that was the end of that discussion lol. 13. What's your biggest tip for maintaining healthy or long hair? Find out what your porosity is and than take it from there. Knowing this vital information will steer you in a better direction as to what products work for you and what methods are best. Deep Conditioning is an amazing way to ensure that you are keeping your tresses moisturized. 14. Where can we find you online? (blog, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube etc).

Andrea Imafidon aka Drea, I am a Brown Girl from Boston but live in Providence, Rhode Island 2. What is your hair type? I have at least three different hair types: 3c, 4a and 4b, I told you, lol.
3. When did you go natural and what made you do it?
I went natural on April 26, 2010 when I relocated to Chicago. It was one of the most liberating things I ever did in my life. I went back to my natural state because I grew tired of waiting endless hours and spending endless money at the salon for my hair to be damaged. I also wanted to be liberated from chemical and transition my lifestyle. 4. What was the most challenging thing about going natural? The most challenging thing about going natural was not knowing what to do with my hair. I would spend hours enrolling into Youtube University lol and becoming frustrated when my hairstyle did not come out exactly like the tutorial. 5. What is your weekly regimen? I usually co-wash between my washes, detangle, condition. I also deep condition and use hot oil rinse more in the winter since I live in frigid New England. 6. What is your daily morning regimen? I usually light spray my hair with water and oil mix and fluff my hair and go. 7. What is your daily night time regimen? I usually light spray my hair with the water and oil mix along with lightly oiling my hair before I use the pineapple method. 8. Do you use heat on your hair at all? I barely use heat on my hair. Usually when I get a protective style, my stylist blow dries my hair to get a better grip when braiding it.
9. Do you braid your hair? If so, how often do you do so in a year?
Yes, I do braid my hair and I usually have it braided three or more times a year to protect and grow my hair. 10. Wide-tooth comb or Denman brush? I use a wide-tooth comb. 11. Is your hair normally loose or in a protective-do? I usually wear it loose during the warmer and milder months. During the cold winter months, I usually braid it and wear protective styles. 12. Have you ever had a hair tragedy? What was it? How did you recover from it? I really haven’t had any hair tragedies thank the Lawd! The only minor one I think I had was when a stylist tried to do a wash and go on my hair and my hair is too thick and course for that. I looked like a chia pet. 13. What's your biggest tip for maintaining healthy or long hair? I have long and thick hair and my best advice is to do what is best for your hair and don’t be a product junkie. If you find something that works for your hair stick with that product instead of spending endless amounts of money on products that are not compatible with your hair type. 14. 1. What's your name and where are you from?
Hello, I’m Pastaveia, I'm a Florida native however I reside in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA 2. What is your hair type? 4a-4b
3. When did you go natural and what made you do it?
I decided to go natural after my family moved to CA and was shocked at the prices for relaxers back in Aug 2009. 4. What was the most challenging thing about going natural? Personally, I haven’t had any major challenges; however I would say that I had to learn patience. Patience for myself and the learning curve I was now experiencing getting to understand my hair and how it responds to certain styles, products and ingredients. 5. What is your weekly regimen? Ha! What routine? Honestly I haven’t kept a “routine” since my first 6 months. Nowadays I simple cleanse my hair and style depending upon the time I have available and my mood. 6. What is your daily morning regimen? Removing my satin scarf (fluffing is optional) and going about my day (most days) I really let me hair kinda do whatever now. I enjoy a wild mane. 7. What is your daily night time regimen? Putting on a satin scarf. I no longer re-twist at night. 8. Do you use heat on your hair at all? Yes, ma’am. The last time was in 2013. I’m not one to freak out about heat. It’s just hair at the end of the day and if its damage then I’ll cut and move on with my life. Short is chic and fun too!
9. Do you braid your hair? If so, how often do you do so in a year?
Yes. I couldn’t tell you an exact number but I keep in my braids, twists (with extensions) for only 3 weeks. Mainly because I get bored with the look. 10. Wide-tooth comb or Denman brush? All of the above and my fingers. 11. Is your hair normally loose or in a protective-do? It’s about 50/50 of both, again depending upon what I have going on. When I’m traveling for work, I style my hair in Marley twist so that it's one less thing I need to worry about in an environment I’m not used to. 12. Have you ever had a hair tragedy? What was it? How did you recover from it? Nope. 13. What's your biggest tip for maintaining healthy or long hair? EAT healthy, DRINK tons of water and don’t stress over it – the health of your hair has a lot to do with your diet and lifestyle. Products aren’t the end all- be all and we shouldn’t be putting so much faith in them because companies get bought out, formulas change. If you find that you hair enjoys aloe and Shea butter for example– its best and more economically sound, to go straight to the source and create your own mix. You can then make it whenever and know that the ingredients won’t change unless you make it – bonus you can create the product as a gift to friends and family or sell it and make some extra $$. 1. What's your name and where are you from?
My name is Essence Roberts and I am from Atlanta, Georgia. 2. What is your hair type? I think I have a mixture of 4A,4B, and 4C. The back of my hair are looser kinky curls, while the front of my hair is a bit tighter, and the middle of my head is the tightest and kinkiest.
3. When did you go natural and what made you do it?
I made the decision to allow my hair to grow naturally the Summer of June 2012. At the beginning of the year 2012 I was a junior in high school I made the decision to bleach my hair blonde and dye my hair red and texturize my hair with no assistance. This was the worst mistake I ever made because my hair was fried, dry, and brittle. I had absolutely no idea what to do with it. So I chopped it all off to a low fade that summer. 4. What was the most challenging thing about going natural? The most challenging at the beginning was sitting wondering whether or not my hair was growing at all. The whole idea of experimenting with hairstyles, products, and what to do next intrigued me, I never looked at that aspect of being natural as challenging. 5. What is your weekly regimen? I love my colored hair. From the beginning when I learned how to properly care for my hair I went all the way honey blonde. My hair takes color so easily. My next big step was the vibrant pink that I currently have. Everyone who chooses to wear their hair naturally if they didn't know it before then they should know now that it is one of the biggest commitments that they will make. Each week on Sunday or Saturday (my free days) I do a pre-poo Saturday night, then sunday morning cleanse my scalp with ACV, then I do a protein treatment (every week without a doubt I never miss this step). I have learned that protein is the most important thing for natural hair, especially bleached blonde or any colored hair. Then I immediately follow with a deep condition. After I wash that out, LOC method and protective style for the week. 6. What is your daily morning regimen? During the summertime I usually cowash my hair every morning and leave with a wash n go. However, it is now getting a bit chilly in the ATL, and I can no longer walk out of the house with a wet head, smh. So, now I take out the protective style from the night before using my whipped shea butter mix that I make, and I separate pieces and fluff my hair out and go. 7. What is your daily night time regimen? At night I always always always sprtiz my hair with water, combine my castor oil and coconut oil together, and add my whipped shea butter to my ends in whatever protective style i choose for that night whether it be bantu knots, three strand twist, flat twist, finger coils, or two strand twist. I pay special attention to my ends. 8. Do you use heat on your hair at all? Once every year I do a length check, I go to my stylist and get my hair blown out and silk pressed. I keep it for one week, then i revert back to my kinky roots.
9. Do you braid your hair? If so, how often do you do so in a year?
No, I do not like any added stress to my hair follicles. I am extremely tender headed. 10. Wide-tooth comb or Denman brush? I do not use any combs because I do not like the constant pulling, snatching, or crunching that comes with combs or brushes. I finger detangle each week and with each styles. 11. Is your hair normally loose or in a protective-do? My hair is normally loose throughout the day, but at night I wear it in a protective do. Sometimes I choose to wear bantu knots out. 12. Have you ever had a hair tragedy? What was it? How did you recover from it? Yes the day right after Thanksgiving 2014, I decided that I wanted my hair a silver/gray color. #FAIL I usually bleach my hair myself, so that was not the problem. I bought a toner (I have never used toner before, but the internet said you need a toner in order to get your hair gray...) My hair turned this goodness awful green color and a gray color. I'm home with all my family, and I'm like, "Mom, I'm about to cut all of my hair off and start over, smh." My mother said, "No honey, just call your stylist and see what she can do." So I did, and I went into her shop that Sunday. She told me the only way to combat what happened is to put a lightener on my hair to make it go back blonde #FAILAGAINNNNN lol As soon as she put the lightener on my head my hair began to turn pink. 13. What's your biggest tip for maintaining healthy or long hair? I only have one, please be consistent. Consistency is key anything that you choose to be committed to. 14. Where can we find you online? 1. What's your name and where are you from?
My name is Linda Makolosi, I am Malawian. 2. What is your hair type? I have 4c hair in the middle, and 4b hair around the sides and my nape. A mixture of zigzags and coils.
3. When did you go natural and what made you do it?
I went natural in March 2013. I used to get so easily bored with my hair, and I would change the cut and colour often. I got tired of having to wear weaves, especially in the hot season here in Malawi, which is 3/4 of the year. I wouldn't retain length past my shoulder when I relaxed my hair, and it felt limp and thin. Eventually I subscribed to a few natural hair channels on YouTube, like heyFranhey, bargain princess, Naptural85, SunKissAlba, NaturalSistas, MahoganyCurls, simplyounique, laila-jean (fusion of cultures), glamtwinz334, and Taren Guy. That was when I realised I could start my natutal hair journey. I learned so much about caring for natural hair and I transitioned right away. I did my big chop in May this year. 4. What was the most challenging thing about going natural? I would have to say dealing with two different textures during my transition. As well as finding natural hair products in Malawi without harmful chemicals like petrolatum, and parabens which would actually help keep hair moist in the hot climate. 5. What is your weekly regimen? Prepoo, cleanse my hair and deep condition on Sunday to get ready for the week. LOC method and updos most days of the week. Inversion method as often as I can. 6. What is your daily morning regimen? I spritz with water and glycerin, seal in with castor oil and shea butter. 7. What is your daily night time regimen? I section my hair and apply leave-in conditioner and seal in with EVCO and wear a satin scarf. 8. Do you use heat on your hair at all? I have used heat probably once during my transitioning stage, but since I haven't really found the need to.
9. Do you braid your hair? If so, how often do you do so in a year?
I braid my hair as one of many protective styles, as often as every 2 to 3 months. Usually oft for the chunkier braids, I find them less time consuming. 10. Wide-tooth comb or Denman brush? Denman brushes are not readily available here. I use a brush similar to it, and a paddle brush too. 11. Is your hair normally loose or in a protective-do? Protective style as often as I can. 12. Have you ever had a hair tragedy? What was it? How did you recover from it? I experienced damage caused by alcohol in a particular hair spray once. My hair got very crisp and it broke off a lot. That made me caution to read the ingredients list every time I buy a product. 13. What's your biggest tip for maintaining healthy or long hair? Moisture! (^^, ) Invest in good leave-ins with humectants, oils or butters that seal-in well, a good essential oil, and learn to love massaging your scalp. 14. Where can we find you online? (blog, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube etc).
