1. What's your name and where are you from?
My name is Lateeka Mosley and I am from New York. 2. What is your hair type? 3c / 4a.
3. When did you go natural and what made you do it?
I went natural in 2007, a bad relaxer experience caused me to go natural. 4. What was the most challenging thing about going natural? The transitioning period, I didn't know how to style my natural hair. 5. What is your weekly regimen? I don't have a weekly regimen, I wear a wash and go everyday since it is summer, when its cold I deep condition once a week. 6. What is your daily morning regimen? I rinse my hair in the shower really well, then I finger detangle and style. 7. What is your daily night time regimen? I don't have a night time routine I sleep on a satin pillow case, unless I'm wearing a twist out then I moisturize my hair and re-twist it for the night. 8. Do you use heat on your hair at all? No, I have not used direct heat on my hair since 2010, I do occasionally use a blow dryer to assist my wash and go in drying a little quicker; but I use low heat and keep the dryer at a distance.
9. Do you braid your hair? If so, how often do you do so in a year?
I usually braid my hair during the colder months. 10. Wide-tooth comb or Denman brush? Neither, I finger detangle all the time. 11. Is your hair normally loose or in a protective-do? I wear my hair loose. 12. Have you ever had a hair tragedy? What was it? How did you recover from it? Yes, when I first went natural I transitioned with braids for the first year, the second year I began flat ironing my hair. I did this for 2 years consistently every 2 weeks, I watched my hair thin and texture change from the heat damage. So I cut it off to start over, my hair grew beautifully then I went to a salon for a trim and the hair stylist gave me a hair cut, then used thinning scissors and a flat iron. Heat damage again, so I had to transition again and it took 2 years to recover. 13. What's your biggest tip for maintaining healthy or long hair? Moisturize consistently, use what works for your hair, no heat, and finger detangle (no tools). 14. Where can we find you online? (blog, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube etc).
