1. What's your name and where are you from?
Hey curl friends I am Rajeeyah Sahar and I am from Saint Louis, Missouri! 2. What is your hair type? I have two different curl patterns. The sides and back are 4b and the front and crown are 4c with an S curl.
3. When did you go natural and what made you do it?
I originally went natural back in 2007 when I decided to loc my hair. But I made the wrong decision to relax it after I combed my locs out in December of 2009. I wasn’t educated on the care and techniques for kinky hair. After wearing a relaxer for a year. I just got tired of the breakage and started watching Youtube videos and got the inspiration from some veteran naturals. I big chopped on Feb 19, 2011. It was the best conscious decision I’ve made. 4. What was the most challenging thing about going natural? The most challenging thing about returning natural was finding hair styles during that awkward stage between 3-6 months. 5. What is your weekly regimen? I keep it simple with my regime and people are still amazed at how my hair stays so healthy. I shampoo every 2 weeks using my line of RSNs Cleansing Shampoo which is sulfate free. I deep condition every 2 weeks are well. I mainly use the LOC (Liquid, Oil, Cream) method which is applying water first, then an oil to seal, and finally a cream which is my Hy-Definition Twist Butter. 6. What is your daily morning regimen? I wear my hair out a lot, so in the morning before work I untwist or unbraid my hair and apply an oil to it and GO. 7. What is your daily night time regimen? At night I always wrap my precious curls with a scarf. It’s important to use a satin or silk scarf to allow moisture to get to your hair. 8. Do you use heat on your hair at all? I very rarely use heat and when I do it just to lightly stretch my curls.
9. Do you braid your hair? If so, how often do you do so in a year?
I don’t normally wear braids, but I am considering box braids this summer. I wear marley twists 3-4 times a year. 10 Wide-tooth comb or Denman brush? Wide-tooth comb and fingers for detangling. 11. Is your hair normally loose or in a protective-do? My hair is always loose, which is something I’m working on. Currently I have marley twists only because I couldn’t fit my afro under my graduation cap LOL. 12. Have you ever had a hair tragedy? What was it? How did you recover from it? OMG Don’t remind me LOL. 2 years ago I had to get 5 inches chopped off because my silly self decided to use bleach to lift my color. My poor ends were fried and I just said it’s better to have short healthy hair than long damaged hair. So My friend cut it off. After that I immediately started taking Hairfinity vitamins and it grew back very fast. 13. What's your biggest tip for maintaining healthy or long hair? The best advice I can give you for maintaining healthy or long hair is to deep condition and use protective styling always. 14. Where can we find you online? (blog, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube etc).
